News & Updates

Join us starting on July 20 for our new Sermon Series.

Roots give us the stability and nourishment we need to grow and break new ground. As we seek to grow in our faith as individuals and as the church, looking back at the deep roots of the Methodist movement can help us look forward to our future. More than mere traditions or rituals, our Methodist roots are a testament to God’s Spirit moving through our history, the same Spirit that is breathing life into us today.

Join us as we study: Baptism, Grace, Personal and Social Holiness, Holy Conferencing, and Communion for five weeks. During this series, Pastor Shelly will be leading an Adult Study in room 103, looking at each of these aspects in a deeper way.

From Your Mission Impact Team

Olathe Public Schools Back to School Event is July 31, 2025

Aldersgate is sponsoring 40 bags of groceries! The Quilters have supplied 100 pillowcases!

How can you help?  Consider making a monetary donation to help cover the cost of the groceries. Purchase a $25 gift card from Walmart, Target, or Kohls. Place gift cards or monetary donations in the offering plate or leave in the church office with DeEtt by July 22nd.

This community event supports students who are home insecure — no permanent fixed address. Thank you for keeping these students and families in your prayers, and helping make the start of their school year brighter!

Adult Mission Trip Opportunity

Flyer for adult mission trips hosted by United Methodist Committee on Relief, with photos of Sager Brown warehouse and volunteers, details about travel dates, costs, and contact info.

UMCOR Sager Brown https://umcmission.org/umcor-supply-depots/ is a disaster relief supply depot in Baldwin, Louisiana. Each year, more than 2,000 volunteers prepare approximately $4 million in relief supplies for shipment from the UMCOR Sager Brown Depot in response to disasters in the United States. UMCOR Sager Brown Depot reaches out to its local neighbors through food distribution, housing rehabilitation projects, and other community outreach efforts. As you can see, there are many activities to participate in, so no matter what your skill level is or what type of work you prefer, you can find it at Sager Brown.

The Great Plains Conference is organizing a trip to Sager Brown from January 31, to February 7, 2026. We will coordinate travel once we have our team assembled. Pastor Shelly will lead our team as part of the larger Great Plains team. The actual days on site for work are Feb 2 to 5. This schedule allows for two days of travel via car to Baldwin, Louisiana. There are activities for all fitness levels. The cost is $340 per person, which includes housing, meals, and a $50 non-refundable deposit. The deposit is due to the church by Friday, June 20.
